Knits that Matter
Knits that Matter meets on the 1st Wednesday and 3rd Thursday each month. We started life as Knit ‘n Natter but decided to change our name after knitting for charities, hospitals, animals etc., because these knits really matter to people and organisations – hence Knits that Matter.
We are a friendly, noisy, and extremely productive group. Our talented members knit or crochet items for various different charities, all at their own expense.
We currently support charities both overseas and at home. These include the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital Premature Baby Unit, Age UK, a newly opened Clinic for babies in Uganda to name a few, and not forgetting our furry friends, Wood Green Animal Shelter. There are a few pictures of some of our knitting below
Premature Baby Clothes, Innocent Smoothie Hats (600!) and baby body warmers for Uganda.
Following recent articles in the local press we were given large amounts of yarn, and one of our members has crocheted a beautiful, colourful blanket which was raffled for charity.
We are pleased to welcome U3A members to our group, but if you are unable to attend our group meetings and would like to knit for our charities, please do not hesitate to ask me for copies of the patterns we are using.
Ramsey & District U3A held an Open Day in 2015 and we Yarn Bombed the Community Centre!!
