Friday 24th May – Spalding – £25 per person including entrance to the Romany Museum

The Gordon Boswell Romany Museum is a unique experience for all the family, containing one of the country’s finest collections of Romany Vardo’s (gypsy caravans and carts) and Waedesko kola (harness) etc.  Approximately 10.30am we will be greeted by Margaret Boswell (the late Gordon’s wife) with coffee/tea and biscuits and she will give a talk on the Gypsy way of life and her family history.  There will be a slide show of a journey Margaret and Gordon made from Spalding to the Appleby Horse Fair by horse and gypsy wagon.  Then time to wander around and look at the old gypsy wagons, carts etc. and the gift shop before boarding the coach at 12.30pm for our onward journey to:

Springfields Shopping Outlet and Festival Gardens for a unique and exciting day that’s not all about shopping. Take time to explore the relaxing environment by stopping off for a mouth-watering choice of cafes and restaurants.  For a quick pit stop head to Costa, Caffe Nero, Subway or Starbucks with its fantastic outdoor seating area.

The Festival Gardens are not to be missed. Wander around 25 acres of beautifully landscaped lawns and exciting sculptures, dazzling water features and of course tulips! They’re the perfect spot to sit and watch the world go by. Celebrity designed gardens include: A Lifetime Ahead by Kim Wilde, Jungle Island by Charlie Dimmock, as well as formal gardens, woodland areas, wetlands, the Senses Garden and the Memorial, Sun Dial and Founders Gardens. There are also Display Fountains combining music and water for wonderful shows.

Cromer by the sea is on the North Norfolk Coast, 25 miles due north of the city of Norwich and has wonderful sandy beaches, museums, plenty of attractions, lovely walks along the Norfolk Coast Path or visit the famous Cromer Pier.  Cromer Pier is a Grade II listed seaside pier which is also the home of the Cromer Lifeboat Station and the Pavilion Theatre.  Enjoy the famous Cromer crab or fish and chips.  Maybe have a paddle in the sea before joining the coach for our home journey at 4pm.
